Kate is a Montana Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor as recognized by the state of Montana. Catherine (Kate) Beck has a M.S. in Counseling with an emphasis in Marriage and Family therapy from Montana State University in Bozeman, Montana and a M.A. in Education from Pacific University in Hillsboro, Oregon. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Oregon in Eugene, Oregon.
She has completed the Level ll training in Gottman Couples Therapy and uses Gottman Method Couples Therapy in her work. The assessments and interventions used from the Gottman Methods Couples Therapy are scientific and research based. This method is designed to help teach specific tools and to deepen friendship and intimacy in relationships.
Catherine (Kate) specializes in working with distressed individuals and couples struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma and abuse, self-esteem and empowerment, grief recovery, and transitional life stressors. She has experience working with cancer patients through the Wellness Center in Bozeman, Montana.
In addition to providing counseling sessions for couples deepening their relationship, she also assists in helping couples make a smooth transition through the process of divorce. She can assist in developing your parenting plan to best meet the interests of the children in the family.

Kate provides a safe setting for families to negotiate blended family issues. Her goal is to assist families to achieve an improved positive regard and respect for one another. She has fifteen years of experience as a public school teacher, school principal and Special Education Director in the combined school districts of Creswell and Hillsboro, Oregon and the Great Falls and Belgrade school systems. Kate has served as an adjunct instructor at Montana State University. She assists parents and children in solving communication problems and in resolving family disputes. Kate helped develop the Gallatin County court mandated Parenting through Divorce workshop for parents seeking a divorce.
Most importantly, Kate believes the relationship and trust developed between the therapist and her clients generates growth and insight into managing emotional conflicts. Goal setting and changes identified by the client are issues which will be addressed in session.
Kate is a preferred provider for the following insurance companies: New West, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Medicaid, Allegiance, MUST, Tri-West, VA, Healthy Montana Kids, UNI-CARE and Community Health Network. She will also accept major credit cards.
