Jane is a graduate of Sarah Lawrence College, holds a Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Michigan, and is licensed as a Social Worker in the states of Montana and Washington. She has a background working in wilderness-based therapy programs as well as in outpatient settings. With her education and experience, she is trained to work with the often complex and intertwining factors that make up one’s mental health.
Jane believes that therapy presents an opportunity for people to make changes in their lives. Through the support of a strong therapeutic relationship, clients will feel empowered to make these changes for themselves.
Jane's experience includes extensive work with adolescents, families, and adults. She specializes in such issues as anxiety, depression, ADD/ADHD, self-harm, relationship problems, trauma and abuse, self-esteem and empowerment, grief and loss, and transitional life stressors.
Jane believes in a relationship-based approach to therapy and uses such modalities as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Family Systems Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Gestalt Therapy among others. She tailors her approach to the individual needs of clients, finding creative solutions to match their unique challenges.
